No Specific Title

There are likes and preferences, and you may not agree with what I'm going to say but

white chocolate is overrated.

When I have to choose between a white chocolate covered candy and a dark chocolate covered one, my instinct is to get the white chocolate covered treat. Why? I don't know... I look at it and imagine a taste impossible for my tongue to capture.
There are other times, very rarely, when I decide to eat the dark chocolate candy, and it ends up being more delicious than I thought it could actually be.

So I invite you to not underrate dark chocolate.

I invite you to vary your decisions.

War Versions

I found an interesting article in The New York Times. It reminds me of Slaughterhouse-Five. I encourage you to read it. In his article, Michael Jernigan, talks about the different versions of war. The gruesome side versus the entertaining side. It's similar to what Vonnegut does in his novel. The article is called: Home Fires: The War Movie You Don't Want To See by Michael Jernigan. Read it!

Actually, Jernigan isn't the only one who shared his story and opinion about war. The Home Fire Series has gathered veterans of war, and asked them to share their experiences. You will find very interesting opinions worth reading and thinking about.

Cliches: Something We Already Know

Even though he's not talking about cliches in particular, his song describes them perfectly.

Enough

My grandfather passed away a month ago. To be exact, a month and a day ago, considering its 12:29 AM. There are times I still can't believe it. Christmas, New Years, holidays have been so disappointing. It's all about tears and how sad it is that my grandpa isn't here with us, but at the same time how relieving it is he's not suffering anymore.
I think it's time we let him go. This suffering isn't good for anyone. Instead of us enjoying the life we still have, we're stuck on the life my grandfather doesn't have anymore. I know it's difficult but we have to move and start living our lives again.

My Grandmother Is Praying To The Virgin: Receive Him

He spent the last days of his life on a bed. No laughing, no talking, just recurring to the past. Saying bye to places dear to him.

He was always afraid of death, but at the same time, he desperately wanted to leave.
He died slowly. He can now rest. He is now free.

Watching Him Fade Away- Part Four

I'll never forget today. I'll never forget how he stared at me. "That's Laura, do you see her?" "Hehh." That's all he says. Hehh. I simply can't believe it. I really can't. I can't accept it. I don't understand. That man in that hospital bed was once a stubborn man. A man who took us to the park whenever we asked him. A man who talked and talked about Mr. Moppin in every family reunion. Now all he says is "hehh." I look at him and his body doesn't belong to him. His pale white skin sticks to his bones and his eyes seem to pass right through you. I have the impression that he didn't recognize me. That look. I just can't accept it. He's not him. Please talk to me! Say something. Ask me how soccer is going. Ask me how many goals I scored and I'll tell you again I don't score any because I play defense. Tell me about Honda. Promise me we'll go back there. Grandpa please stand up. I'm so scared. Go back to being that stressful old man always arguing with my grandma about the stupidest things. I can't take it anymore. I wake up every morning and wonder if you'll wake up. I think about it all the time. I'm so scared to see you, because I'm scared it will be the last time. How will I know when the time will come? What if I can't say goodbye?
I now understand why cancer is such a difficult disease. I hate it so much. It kills the soul before it kills the body. I'm so shocked. I can't believe that's my grandpa. He still looks like him, but he's not him. That man must remember who he was before. I can't imagine how difficult that can be. He knows he once was strong, but he can't do anything about it. No one can. All we can do is wait. How awful is that. Just wait.

I hate it. With passion.
