Happiness Plan

Love life. Live life with no regrets. Laugh, breathe, enjoy every day to it's fullest. We've heard it all before. In inspirational movies, in not so inspirational ones. From our family members, principles, friends, celebrities, songs. We've even heard ourselves say it to other people, say it to the person in the mirror. Six billion and something people in the world, each and every one of them with different experiences, necessities, different ambitions... all look for the same thing:

a purpose.

I'm a firm believer that everyone, at some point feels lost, asking themselves why they are here, wondering how to reach that unexplainable, overwhelming, unknown but tempting feeling of happiness.

Finding the purpose of life is a personal journey. There's no universal happiness key that opens every door. You have to make your own key, probably try it a few times, destroy it and create it all over again before it fits perfectly to the lock on your door.

This is my attempt of making my key. I'm scared of it because it involves the most uncertain thing in this world. The future.
It's my happiness plan. Let’s hope it won’t fail.

No Specific Title

There are likes and preferences, and you may not agree with what I'm going to say but

white chocolate is overrated.

When I have to choose between a white chocolate covered candy and a dark chocolate covered one, my instinct is to get the white chocolate covered treat. Why? I don't know... I look at it and imagine a taste impossible for my tongue to capture.
There are other times, very rarely, when I decide to eat the dark chocolate candy, and it ends up being more delicious than I thought it could actually be.

So I invite you to not underrate dark chocolate.

I invite you to vary your decisions.

War Versions

I found an interesting article in The New York Times. It reminds me of Slaughterhouse-Five. I encourage you to read it. In his article, Michael Jernigan, talks about the different versions of war. The gruesome side versus the entertaining side. It's similar to what Vonnegut does in his novel. The article is called: Home Fires: The War Movie You Don't Want To See by Michael Jernigan. Read it!

Actually, Jernigan isn't the only one who shared his story and opinion about war. The Home Fire Series has gathered veterans of war, and asked them to share their experiences. You will find very interesting opinions worth reading and thinking about.

Cliches: Something We Already Know

Even though he's not talking about cliches in particular, his song describes them perfectly.

Word Of The Day

Flibbertigibbet \FLIB-ur-tee-jib-it\, noun:

A silly, flighty, or scatterbrained person, especially a pert young woman with such qualities.

I'm sure you can come up with your own conclusions.

Enough

My grandfather passed away a month ago. To be exact, a month and a day ago, considering its 12:29 AM. There are times I still can't believe it. Christmas, New Years, holidays have been so disappointing. It's all about tears and how sad it is that my grandpa isn't here with us, but at the same time how relieving it is he's not suffering anymore.
I think it's time we let him go. This suffering isn't good for anyone. Instead of us enjoying the life we still have, we're stuck on the life my grandfather doesn't have anymore. I know it's difficult but we have to move and start living our lives again.

My Grandmother Is Praying To The Virgin: Receive Him

He spent the last days of his life on a bed. No laughing, no talking, just recurring to the past. Saying bye to places dear to him.

He was always afraid of death, but at the same time, he desperately wanted to leave.
He died slowly. He can now rest. He is now free.
